Shabbat

Friday evening services begin at 5:30 PM with a special candle lighting and blessing and end with an Oneg hosted by several congregants. The Rabbi leads us in the liturgy readings using the new Reform prayer book, Mishkan Tefillah. On two or three services during the months September through May, our worship services are enhanced with organ accompaniment songs from our volunteer choir.  On the first Saturday of each month Rabbi Datz leads an informal Torah service and discussion.  Children and Family services are held the first Friday of the month where the Rabbi combines special Torah themes and stories geared for family and children participation. Then on the second Friday, we host a community Shabbat Dinner where congregants continue with Shabbat celebration over a lovely catered meal and homemade challah.
